Canberra : Canberra Accommodation
Canberra is a great 3-day, 2-night holiday option with a range of accommodation. Heading into town from Sydney the Federal Highway turns into Northbourne Avenue and there’s a lot of B & Bs along this strip.
A personal favourite in hotel accommodation is Rydges Capital Hill (used to be The Pavilion) - comfortable rooms, great indoor pool, bar & restaurant and handy to the sights while in a quiet area. Chifley on Northbourne - Canberra is also good. The Chifley is situated in the centre of this great city, just a few minutes walk to business, shopping and entertainment. It is the ideal base from which to explore the national monuments and cultural icons that make up the character of Canberra.
For self-contained apartments, I like the Manuka and Kingston area. For the more budget, but still quality accommodation, there are 3 and a half to 4 star Best Western motels at Ainslie, Deakin, Narrabundah and Queanbeyan. For a really nice rural retreat with romance and old world charm, there’s The Carrington not far from the city.
